Åsa Jungnelius
Artist Åsa Jungnelius har been interested in how materials and spaces affect people her whole life. She spent her childhood taking things apart and putting them back together to make them feel better. Now she built her own creative universe surrounded by shades of pink, soft and fluffy things, shiny surfaces and leather, glass and wood.
She is slightly obsessed with cavities, the colour pink, vaginas, shells, spaciousness, materials and nature's most subtle shifts. When Swedish glass art's main rock star Åsa Jungnelius builds her world in the forests of Småland, she creates space for her entire universe. Both her artistic world and her and her son Sten's everyday life. The place they call home is an old wooden school in Måsamåla, located in what may seem to be in the middle of nowhere and surrounded by forest in every direction.
