Nina | Malmö
If aesthetics was a child, one could say that Nina Perssons is in a phase of teenage rebellion. Or maybe just went through some kind of release process. At least when it comes to her own home. When Nina and her family after many years with a home base in New York three years ago decided to return to Sweden, both she and the unruly child were ready for something new.
- I have really changed aesthetics throughout life. From total brothel maximalism in our former apInitially Nina, her husband Nathan Larson and son Nils lived in the flat in central Malmö they kept over the years in New York. But when an apartment in the same house that several of their friends live in went up for sale they changed both home and area.
- Nathan and I had many years as a couple without children, when we lived a bit scattered for a while. We’ve always had a place in Sweden and one in New York, but the accommodation in New York has at times been very different - in a collective, at home with Nathan's parents or in small rental apartments with an average area of 25 square meters. But your needs change when you have a child. When Nils was going to school both the area and the fact that we have close friends in this particular house felt important.artment in Sweden via periodic building preservation-like renovation of our brownstone house in New York, I now felt a slight tiredness of lull lull and old stuff. Part of my longing to move back to Sweden was also about a longing for something clean and functional, which gives place to everyday life. A kind of urban homeland romance. Certainly not in line with reality, but strong in me.
